The Expert Support Academy is a training program for tech professionals interested in starting or advancing a career in technical communications.
Training Program Features

- Tool/platform independent training applicable to all authoring and production tools and environments
Apprenticeship Program
In addition to coursework, enrollees who complete the coursework become eligible for paid apprenticeship assignments. Apprentices are paired with professional technical writers in the field, take on commercial technical writing assignments, get feedback on drafts, and get coaching from experienced professionals in the field.
Prerequisites
- Integrity: Demonstrable history of making and keeping commitments
- College degree or equivalent experience in computer science or software engineering
- Original code examples demonstrating programming competence
- Original writing samples demonstrating a prolific flair for writing, and command of the English language
Duration
Our program combines an instructor-led virtual classroom, homework, and self-paced study. Expect each module to take 6 to 8 weeks to complete for a working professional. We expect most students to complete the entire program in less than three years.
